Mind Eraser Review

Vekoma SLC’s are despised in the coaster community. They are absolute headbangers and shake you around as much as possible. It almost requires a helmet to ride one of these. Mind Eraser is a Vekoma SLC and lives up to its horrible reputation.

Mind Eraser is located at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD. Six Flags America doesn’t have an abundance of amazing roller coasters that make it a go-to destination. Mind Eraser does not do the park any services in terms of boosting the park’s reputation. Here are my thoughts on Mind Eraser.

Theming

Is it possible to have negative theming? Mind Eraser is placed in the Wild West section which is a decently themed area, but Mind Eraser being here makes no sense. The ride itself has zero theming, but it also feels incredibly out of place for this area.

Ride Experience

Vekoma SLC’s are infamous for being terrible and Mind Eraser is terrible. It is painful and almost forceless. It is hard to enjoy this ride as it bangs you around within the restraints. The best part is the drop as it is the smoothest section. However, once it throws you into the loops and sharp turns, that is when the pain comes in. The double corkscrew at the end is also painful.

If you know how to ride Mind Eraser, it may not be that bad. If you keep your head forward, you can brace yourself for the incoming pain and not hit your head alongside the restraints. 

The restraints are not comfortable at all. They are tough and hard as a rock. Hitting your head between them can hurt. The restraints also have two metal handles that you can hold onto, but they don’t really help. If you don’t like rough rollercoasters, this is not one for you.

Final verdict

It’s hard to say anything positive about Mind Eraser. The nicest thing I can say is that the last time I rode it, it was not as bad as I remember but still pretty bad. It is not only the worst rollercoaster at Six Flags America, it may be the worst roller coaster I’ve ever been on.
